Henry Paton born parish Dollar Clackmannanshire county Scotland about 1851 - father John Paton occupation carpenter and Jane Gibson his mother. On 30th May 1874 Henry was entered into the Freemason Lodge St Andrew No 465 Glasgow Scotland. The 4th June 1874 Henry sailed from Greenock (Glasgow) to Lyttelton New Zealand on the ship 'Canterbury'. It was her maiden voyage and he was age 24 occupation ploughman from the district of Clackmannan.

Mary (Minnie) Paton
Born 27 October 1884 Dunedin New Zealand. Parents Henry Paton and Mary nee Mckinlay, siblings Henry (Harry), Edward John, Robert James, Grace Gibson and Elsie.
Minnie married Edwin Moodie Grant and they had 2 sons and a daughter.
Family lived Wanganui where Minnie was a music teacher. She was an opera singer and also played the violin and piano.
Her husband Edwin, retired died Wanganui 1966.
Minnie died 16 October 1967 and is buried Wanganui.
Son Donald (Don) Edwin Grant played rugby for Waikato 1950 - 1956. 71 games, 12 points and 4 trys.
Don passed away in 1999.
