Henry Paton born parish Dollar Clackmannanshire county Scotland about 1851 - father John Paton occupation carpenter and Jane Gibson his mother. On 30th May 1874 Henry was entered into the Freemason Lodge St Andrew No 465 Glasgow Scotland. The 4th June 1874 Henry sailed from Greenock (Glasgow) to Lyttelton New Zealand on the ship 'Canterbury'. It was her maiden voyage and he was age 24 occupation ploughman from the district of Clackmannan.

Grace Gibson Paton
Born 12 February 1889 Dunedin New Zealand. Parents Henry Paton and Mary nee Mckinlay, siblings Henry (Harry), Edward John, Robert James, Mary (Minnie), Elsie.
Married Knox Church Dunedin at the age of 31 to Albert (Bert) Gardner youngest son of Margaret nee Mckinlay and George Gleigg Gardner.
They had 4 children - Margaret Mary died age 9.
Prior to the War Grace lived Wellington and worked as a telephonist.
Later when married the family lived on the farm at Waikari North Canterbury.
Her husband Bert occupation farmer died 1939 at Sumner Christchurch.
Grace died 1963 at Sumner Christchurch and is buried along with husband in the Gardner family plot at Bromley Cemetery.
